Industries Plastics & rubber

Plastics, from granulate to part. Moulds, material and scrap tracked.

Moulders run expensive tools on tight cycle times. Dika Ops keeps moulds, cavities, raw material, regrind and production orders together, so each run knows what it needs and what it really produced.

The challenge

What slows plastics & rubber down.

01Moulds as assets

A mould has cavities, a location, a maintenance history and customer ownership. It is easy to lose track of where it is.

02Material mix

Granulate, masterbatch and regrind are blended per part. A wrong ratio or an empty silo stops the machine.

03Scrap and yield

Start-up scrap, rejects and sprues change real output per shot. Standard cost and actual cost drift apart.

04Customer call-offs

Customers release volumes in smaller call-offs. Production must follow the schedule without overbuilding.

01

Products with mould data

Link each part to its mould, number of cavities, material and standard cycle, so planning starts from facts.

  • Mould and cavities on the product
  • Material and colour specifications
  • Documents per part

02

Material bills

Define granulate, masterbatch and regrind per part, and issue them to the production order.

  • Material mix per part
  • Regrind booked as stock
  • Consumption recorded on the order

03

Production orders

Release orders by machine and mould, and record good output and scrap for each run.

  • Orders by status and due date
  • Good and scrap quantities
  • Finished goods booked into stock

Purchasing for raw material

Order granulate and additives against planned runs and compare supplier offers.

  • Purchase orders from shortages
  • Requests for quotation
  • Supplier delivery history

How it runs

One flow, start to finish.

  1. 01Call-off

A customer order or call-off creates demand for finished parts.

  2. 02Plan the run

Planning picks the mould and machine and checks material stock for the run.

  3. 03Buy material

Missing granulate or masterbatch becomes a purchase order.

  4. 04Mould and record

The production order issues material and records good parts, scrap and regrind.

  5. 05Deliver and invoice

Finished parts are shipped against the order and invoiced.

FAQ

Plastics & rubber, answered.

Can we link a product to its mould and cavities?

Yes. Product records can carry the attributes you define, such as mould, cavities and material.

Can we track regrind?

Yes. Regrind can be held as its own stock item and issued to production orders in the mix.

Can we record scrap?

Production orders record good output and scrap, so actual yield can be compared with plan.

Can we handle customer call-offs?

Sales orders can be released in parts, and production can follow the delivery schedule.
